I took a quiet walk in the rain to clear my mind, and came upon this mossy rock landscape in a neighbor's yard in Wakefield, MA. To photograph it required climbing through brambles and mud, and painting it became an escape.
 
Each surface comes with unique grain, age, and weather marks and I choose the scene to recreate on each based on the qualities and character of the wood. Every piece I paint on had a life before it came to me, and that's part of the story.

Work comes wired and ready to hang.
