Reclaimed Cedar Shingles

I was intrigued by a cedar shingle found lying in the grass on the side of a residential street in Chatham, MA.  Cape Cod homes are swimming in these shingles, which are deliberately left unpainted in order to change from light tan to weathered gray with the ceaseless exposure to sun, salt, and rain.
